Generation after generation haspainstakingly tended the trees that grow in orchards, on meadows and on hillsides sloping toward the lake.<\/p>\n<p>The scenery is characterized by the sparseness of Sm\u00e5land. To take advantage of what little arable land was available, fruit trees were planted on meadows and fields.
